Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan, who is also known as the Queen of Funk, is a popular American musician. Over the course of her long career of more than 50 years Chaka Khan has been awarded a total 10 Grammys. Billboard Magazine has ranked her as the 65th best dancer in the world. Her grandmother introduced her to jazz when she was young. She began her career by playing with various bands. She later joined the group Rufus. As part of the group, she recorded her first record in her 20s. In the year following, they received their very first Grammy. Her self-titled debut album just a couple of years following her debut solo album. After that, she released numerous albums through the years like 'Echoes from an Era', 'The Woman I Am' and "Funk This.". Other than her contributions to music, she has also been recognized as a charitable persona. Chaka Khan Foundation, which was established to assist children and adults with Autism as well as families with a poor background. Khan was also occasionally an actress. She played the role of sister Carrie in the musical "Mama, I Want to Sing.'
