Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter of Josephine Lab technician, and John Ormond (a stockbroker) who lived in Epsom, Surrey. She is the second of five children for her parents. The first time she performed in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted attention. She went on to Cranleigh School and Guildford High School. After a single year of art school, she was transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. She graduated in 1988. Ormond first made an appearance on British TV in the series Traffik which focused on the illegal heroin trade from the far East into the streets of Europe. Ormond played the heroin dependent daughter of the main character who was a Home Office minister working to combat the importation of heroin. This was her first film role and received a fawning review.
